Photomania II: Reverse Cycle - Bryan and Barry's Pics

Compulsory shot, car in front of Soldiers Memorial Hall. "380 evilly
commands fairy lights to glow..."

Compulsory shot, Car in front of Harrogate Cemetery sign. "You never said
which side of the sign was required."

Compulsory pic of Telstra booth - "I can't understand why telephone boxes
are disappearing, can you?"

Compulsory shot, landmark. Water tower between Nairne and Dawesley.
Phallic in'it?

The purdy shot.

Photomania II: Reverse Cycle - Jason and Brenton's Pics

The scenic spot. Look at them clouds!

The landmark - Lobethal Hall and cleverly done in a reflection. But what is the red beastie?

"Oh, What a Feeling". Whoops wrong car company. See sign in picture for location information.

"He's not dead, he's just resting"

Photomania II: Reverse Cycle - Malcolm & Terry's Pics

The landmark house between Woodside and Lobethal. Very simple garden at this house - grass hectares of it!

The obligatory, in front of the Harrogate Hall shot.

Terry being shot by Malcolm.

The scenic spot - in the background the mine not too far out of Dawsley.

The phone box shot!

Photomania II: Reverse Cycle - Brenton & Clinton's Pics

The Harrogate Hall shot. Formerly missing, now available for viewing . . . Just marvel . . . Contemplate . . . and then move on . . . Next!

Scenic spot. Awwwwww . . . .

The Dawsley Phone Box and some really tricky parking.

Photomania II: Reverse Cycle - Hillary & Tom's Photos

This set of photos comes with a parental advisory warning.
The following pictures are rated PG - perverted and guilty.
You have been warned . . .

A public service - Hillary producing fire water. See sign on fence.

The might Dodge in front of the Harrogate Soldier's Memorial Hall. "Attention!"

I believe he did this voluntarily.

Yes, he's standing on the roof. The scenic shot I think, unless you think that was the one back at the toilet block.

Hillary phone home.

On sentry duty - that's making sure the sentry doesn't get away . . .

A fey pixie welcomes you to Fairyland Village. He hopes you have a lovely time and of course he happy to show you 'the sights'.

Photomania II: Reverse Cycle - Robyn, Julie and Liz's Shots

A scenic dead tree. Looks like a Eucalypt Firewoodius species.

Lucy not taking any interest in being a farmer. The herd is on the Other side of the car.

Too racy for a hearse. But hatch backs are so useful for carting things away . . . like bodies rolled up in old carpet.

The Merc gets hungry at the Dawsley Phone box. "Crunch".

"Renovator's delight in natural parklands. Close to all amenities such as air and earth. Would suit Satanic cult or coven."
Another scenic shot.

Smoke stop girls?

More scenics . . .

The documentary shot showing "The Making of The Harrogate Soldier's Memorial Hall Photo" or THSMHP for short.

See above caption, substitute phone booth where appropriate and forget about the acronym.

Photomania II: Reverse cycle - Brendan & Mervyn's Photos

Scenic cows.

Ready for a quick getaway at the Harrogate Hall and Gunslinger Saloon.

Brendan ponders the eternal question . . . "What to have for lunch", in front of the Harrogate Cemetery gates.

At the Dawsley Phone Box.

Brendan, landmark and dog.

Photomania II: Reverse Cycle - Harvey & David's Photos

David being scenic.

Reflected in the bonnet. At Dawsley! Harvey tries to smile, achieves grimace.

Our landmark shot - the Bird in Hand Winery's silos.

Close up and fuzzy at the Hall in Harrogate.

Just a hatch back, not a hearse. At Harrogate's Dead Centre.

Photomania II - Reverse Cycle

by Harvey Schiller
Organiser, or the person to blame (depending on your point of view), for the 'Photomania II - Reverse Cycle' run held on Sunday, August 16.

My achievements:

I managed to send Robyn, Julie and Liz to Nairne, for a second time.
My directions around Bird in Hand Road annoyed Bryan and Barry.
I sent Malcolm and Terry the wrong way up Drummond Road.
I got Hillary and Tom confused by the directions provided.

Not bad for one day's work . . . he he . . !

The run took us from an early coffee at Ruby's in Stirling through the Adelaide Hills to Lobethal where we had lunch at the Lobethal Bierhaus, a restaurant and micro-brewery. In between we visited Littlehampton, Nairne (some of us twice), Harrogate and Woodside.

At Ruby's in Stirling for a pre-run coffee. Sandy is unimpressed being caught on camera (iPhone) with breakfast. Also Julie, Michelle and Robyn.

g

Brenton looks at watch, thinks "Time to get the show on the road . . ." Also Barry, Brenton and Clinton.

Brenton, Jason and Barry.

Michelle caught with breakfast, while Sandy manages to avoid the camera. With Robyn and Julie.

Hillary arms akimbo realises too late that it's a camera phone he is looking at. Very butch look dear. Also Tom and Rod.

Below: The Run complete with errors!

As well as the three compulsory photo stops you are to take two extra photos along the route. The first photo is to be of your car in a scenic spot. The second is to be of your car near a landmark.
Directions
• If you’ve received this sheet of instructions you made it to Stirling and probably Ruby’s Cafe. Congratulations - not bad for a Sunday morning.
• After leaving Stirling head for the Bridgewater exit and the freeway. (Try not to head straight back to Adelaide!)
• You’re headed for the Mount Barker/Littlehampton freeway exit - along the way you will pass the Bridgewater exit and the Hahndorf exit.
• Take a left at the Mount Barker/Littlehampton exit and head towards Littlehampton.
• From Littlehampton head to Nairne and then go right through the town. After leaving Nairne you will be on a windy twisty road and you’re heading to Dawsley and your first compulsory photo stop. The magnificent urban complex of Dawsley is just on from Pyrites Road.
• Photo Stop One - Take a photo of your car with the Dawsley Telstra phone booth in the background.
• After taking your photo continue heading away from Nairne. Pass Donald St/Schmeiss Road and Dong Road (No Really!). Turn left on to Harrogate Road. (Or Harrowgate Road as it’s marked on my map. Sawpit Road is up on the right nearby.
• About 14 (about-ish maybe) kilometres along Harrogate Road you will come to the Dead Centre of Harrogate but not the geographic centre. If you get to The Glen Road you’ve gone too far, come back aways. You need to be where all the big pines and trees are.
• Photo Stop Two - On this gravel section you will pass a sign on the left, “Harrogate Cemetery”. Take a picture of your car in front of that sign.
• Continue along Harrogate Road until you reach the bustling metropolis that is Harrogate.
• Somewhere in the fine metropolis is the Harrogate Soldiers Memorial Hall, you’ll find it.
• Photo Stop Three - Take a photo of your car in front of the Harrogate Soldiers Memorial Hall.
• You are now on Mail Street, follow the street until is turns into Mail Road and drive and drive and drive and perhaps think about where you will take your landmark and scenery shots!
• There’s a T-Junction but continue along Mail Road.
• Mail Road then turns into Bird in Hand Road. Continue along Bird in Hand Road. You will come to a five way intersection but continue on Bird in Hand Road.
• As Bird in Hand ends it turns into Drummond Road as it takes a right hand sweep, follow this road for just a little way and turn left onto Pfeiffer Road.
•Follow Pfeiffer Road onto the Woodside/Nairne Road.
• At Nairne Road turn left and at the
T-Junction in the town of Woodside take a right heading through the town on the Onkaparinga Valley Road.
• A little way out of town you will find the Lobethal turn off. Turn left and head to Lobethal. (If you reach a town called Charleston you’ve gone too far!)
• Head into town and find the Main Street - just head downhill. The Lobethal Bierhaus is between the old Onkaparinga Woolen Mills (now a markets complex) and the start of the main street, at the Adelaide to Lobethal Road end.

David show a photo to Michelle at the Lobethal Bierhaus.
Left and clockwise - David, Brenton, Clinton, Bryan, Jason, Barry, Sandy and Michelle.
Lucky table 13!

Not in the Wolsley! Malcolm and Terry depart after a fruitful photographic moment in front of the Harrogate Soldier's Memorial Hall or the HSMH for short!

Jason surreptitiously takes a photo over his shoulder - or he could just be showing a pic to Bryan.

As Barry called out "Work it Baby", Bryan poured on the charm. At the Dawsley phone box.

What stout can do to a man. Tom doubles his focal power to keep his equilibrium. Behind Terry and Malcolm study the menu and Liz and Robyn look on.
