Photomania III - Torsten & Rod
Below we have pictures from Torsten and Rod. Torsten took Rod's pictures and Rod took Torsten's pictures - actually that's wrong Torsten took pictures of Rod and Rod did the same. No, Rod didn't take photos of himself (although he might have - unseen here), he took photo of Torsten.
Photomania III - Brenton & Clinton

Thunderbird versus football.
The most inspiring tank in Echunga with some old army thing.
Here duckie, duckie, duckie. (What was the meat course at Brenton & Clinton's on Sunday night? Hmmmm?)
Ashton to Stonehenge in 35 minutes - only do-able in a Thunderbird. (FAB Virgil.)
Car, Apple and Clinton! And the devil's backward writing . . .

Photomania III - Harvey & David
In Reverse order . . .
The tank was not a water tank! It was military type Leopard type tank, TANK!
At Laratinga . . . not on Walden Pond . . .
Sporting equipment? Mini S John Cooper Works. Nuff said.
Our Harris Road shot. At Mount Lofty Ranges Cellar Door. Guess where we spent 20 minutes while the rest of you got lost! ;-)
She'll be apples!

It's Scenic at Penfolds
Robyn and Julie's run took us from the Brown Dog Cafe in Goodwood, then on to the Scenic Hotel at Norton Summit and finished at Penfolds Cellar Door at Magill.
"Aromas of vintage gaskets mixed with red hot drum brake melt down."
Peter, Brian and Rod discuss how they can quietly relieve Magill Penfolds of their Reidel cabinet without anyone noticing . . .

The Ortum Leafs Run
Now I wasn't on the Ortum Leafs Run so I'm going to guess what occurred. I believe Brenton and Clinton organised it and that in general they headed hillswards. I hear lunch was had at the Bridgewater Inn, which is quite different to the Bridgewater Mill next door - by about $20 per spoonful.
These photos taken by Sandy T . . . btw . . . Glorious they are too.

Eric's Mini. A Cooper S no less. Taken out of the museum for the day . . .

Chris and Wayne's German super car. Ho hum. ;-) Oh to have such ho hum times . . .

Later on the bomb squad arrived and everyone was allowed back into the pub to dine.

Clinton, off camera, doing his famous Marilyn Monroe "Happy Birthday Mr President" monologue and song to the delight of Michelle and adoring hubby Brenton.

"Sharply acidic but sweet on the after taste with a pronounced aroma of garlic."
Luckily not the wine but the verdict on main course from Chris and Wayne.

Suzanne in the barge. Sorry very lovely, statuesque vehicle. It's no way as big as most suburban housing blocks and nooooooo it doesn't need it's own oil well to keep it running. Brenton's Jeep has first dibs on that oil well . . .

The Non-Beach Run
"And Lo and Behold Dids't the Qcar people Declare and Aver that they would hold a Beach Run in Mid Summer. They hopethed for a warm and Sunny Day but Yea and Verily it dideth not occur. And Lo the sun refusedeth to shineth and didst the Wind decide to bloweth and so didst the organisers say "Fuck it - Lets go to the pub" whereupon verily didst the Congregated Congregation go to said Pub and Delight in its Pubiness."
The Prophecies of McKillop Under the Influence Chapter 12.2 verses 14.666 - 17.834
As the sun did not shine and it was pretty cold so we decided not to go to the beach. We had met at Ruby's in Stirling and had intended to head to North Maslin's Beach for a sand castle building competition and a picnic. Instead we went for a magical mystery tour of the Adelaide Hills.
First stop was Mount Bold Reservoir. We arrived at 3.45pm and the gates shut at 4pm. We had a very quick stop, look and fag (for those interested in cancer sticks) and then headed off towards Kangarilla but not before being nearly closed in by the over-enthusiastic gate-keeper.
We then headed towards Meadows and Macclesfield where we de-camped and enjoyed a bevvy or two with the Three Brothers and their Arms. We also witnessed a fine architectural discourse on the building of a ruin from Robyn ably assisted by Julie. They were rewarded with spontaneous applause and they didst please our saint in waiting so much that a gift parcel containing her favourite tipple among other things did suddenly and mysteriously appear unto them.
From thence we took various scenic routes to the fabled magnificence of Chateau Glenunga where the picnic finally took place.

It's for sale - if you ring now you'll also receive not one, not two, not three but 1.6 million unwanted gifts. Call Alexander now on his mobile!

At Mount Bold with David and Julie and a bit of Lucy. Peter and Sal in the background.

"Poorly planned"
"Badly organised"
'What a shit run"
"Can't even get the weather right"
"Pfft"
Robyn, Peter, Brian and Sal exchange pleasantries.

"You draw first Clint"
"No you draw first Brent"
"Okay on the count of three we blow away that tiny red Eastern European Nikki cockroach!"

Brett didn't realise his drink was actually milk.
"Insert name here" ________ and Alexander smile knowingly.
The author of this in no way has Alzheim . . . What was I typing . . .

At the Three Brothers Arms.

Robyn and Julie present the biggest architectural project since the Burj Dubai.

Rod, "Insert name here" ________ ,Brett and Bryan enjoy the deck at the Chateau.

Din dins at the Chateau. *Add your own chomping, chewing and yummy sounds*

Photomania II - Reverse Cycle
by Harvey Schiller
Organiser, or the person to blame (depending on your point of view), for the 'Photomania II - Reverse Cycle' run held on Sunday, August 16.
My achievements:
I managed to send Robyn, Julie and Liz to Nairne, for a second time.
My directions around Bird in Hand Road annoyed Bryan and Barry.
I sent Malcolm and Terry the wrong way up Drummond Road.
I got Hillary and Tom confused by the directions provided.
Not bad for one day's work . . . he he . . !
The run took us from an early coffee at Ruby's in Stirling through the Adelaide Hills to Lobethal where we had lunch at the Lobethal Bierhaus, a restaurant and micro-brewery. In between we visited Littlehampton, Nairne (some of us twice), Harrogate and Woodside.

At Ruby's in Stirling for a pre-run coffee. Sandy is unimpressed being caught on camera (iPhone) with breakfast. Also Julie, Michelle and Robyn.
g
Brenton looks at watch, thinks "Time to get the show on the road . . ." Also Barry, Brenton and Clinton.

Brenton, Jason and Barry.

Michelle caught with breakfast, while Sandy manages to avoid the camera. With Robyn and Julie.

Hillary arms akimbo realises too late that it's a camera phone he is looking at. Very butch look dear. Also Tom and Rod.
Below: The Run complete with errors!
As well as the three compulsory photo stops you are to take two extra photos along the route. The first photo is to be of your car in a scenic spot. The second is to be of your car near a landmark.
Directions
• If you’ve received this sheet of instructions you made it to Stirling and probably Ruby’s Cafe. Congratulations - not bad for a Sunday morning.
• After leaving Stirling head for the Bridgewater exit and the freeway. (Try not to head straight back to Adelaide!)
• You’re headed for the Mount Barker/Littlehampton freeway exit - along the way you will pass the Bridgewater exit and the Hahndorf exit.
• Take a left at the Mount Barker/Littlehampton exit and head towards Littlehampton.
• From Littlehampton head to Nairne and then go right through the town. After leaving Nairne you will be on a windy twisty road and you’re heading to Dawsley and your first compulsory photo stop. The magnificent urban complex of Dawsley is just on from Pyrites Road.
• Photo Stop One - Take a photo of your car with the Dawsley Telstra phone booth in the background.
• After taking your photo continue heading away from Nairne. Pass Donald St/Schmeiss Road and Dong Road (No Really!). Turn left on to Harrogate Road. (Or Harrowgate Road as it’s marked on my map. Sawpit Road is up on the right nearby.
• About 14 (about-ish maybe) kilometres along Harrogate Road you will come to the Dead Centre of Harrogate but not the geographic centre. If you get to The Glen Road you’ve gone too far, come back aways. You need to be where all the big pines and trees are.
• Photo Stop Two - On this gravel section you will pass a sign on the left, “Harrogate Cemetery”. Take a picture of your car in front of that sign.
• Continue along Harrogate Road until you reach the bustling metropolis that is Harrogate.
• Somewhere in the fine metropolis is the Harrogate Soldiers Memorial Hall, you’ll find it.
• Photo Stop Three - Take a photo of your car in front of the Harrogate Soldiers Memorial Hall.
• You are now on Mail Street, follow the street until is turns into Mail Road and drive and drive and drive and perhaps think about where you will take your landmark and scenery shots!
• There’s a T-Junction but continue along Mail Road.
• Mail Road then turns into Bird in Hand Road. Continue along Bird in Hand Road. You will come to a five way intersection but continue on Bird in Hand Road.
• As Bird in Hand ends it turns into Drummond Road as it takes a right hand sweep, follow this road for just a little way and turn left onto Pfeiffer Road.
•Follow Pfeiffer Road onto the Woodside/Nairne Road.
• At Nairne Road turn left and at the
T-Junction in the town of Woodside take a right heading through the town on the Onkaparinga Valley Road.
• A little way out of town you will find the Lobethal turn off. Turn left and head to Lobethal. (If you reach a town called Charleston you’ve gone too far!)
• Head into town and find the Main Street - just head downhill. The Lobethal Bierhaus is between the old Onkaparinga Woolen Mills (now a markets complex) and the start of the main street, at the Adelaide to Lobethal Road end.

David show a photo to Michelle at the Lobethal Bierhaus.
Left and clockwise - David, Brenton, Clinton, Bryan, Jason, Barry, Sandy and Michelle.
Lucky table 13!

Not in the Wolsley! Malcolm and Terry depart after a fruitful photographic moment in front of the Harrogate Soldier's Memorial Hall or the HSMH for short!

Jason surreptitiously takes a photo over his shoulder - or he could just be showing a pic to Bryan.

As Barry called out "Work it Baby", Bryan poured on the charm. At the Dawsley phone box.

What stout can do to a man. Tom doubles his focal power to keep his equilibrium. Behind Terry and Malcolm study the menu and Liz and Robyn look on.
